The most time consuming project to date was preparation for the spray in liner.
Below is how we done it. (Project was done around end of July 1998)

Sorry we don't have any detailed pictures !

Since I removed the center console to install some wiring for the CB I decided to continue to take apart our Defender so it could be sprayed completely with the bed liner material.
back of our defender
inside removed
I removed the seats and shifter hump and the thin black padding around the interior.

I then un-riveted the floor pans and seat hump. Then sanded with 60 grit sand paper to roughen up to make  the spray material  stick better.
seat pan sanded down
individual parts sprayed
I had them sprayed first the I re-riveted the battery box back together.
The transmission is easily serviceable from the top side
with the inside removed. While it was open I fixed some shifter problems on the Diff Lock. Also I sealed all the connectors in that area with Dielectric grease, then sealed with silicone.

flinstone special
Some say it was a Fred Flintstone ride.
I did most of the prepping to save some cost for spraying.

Then I re-riveted the boxes back in.
The floor panels and shifter hump were also sprayed top and bottom.
The drivers seat was installed so I could drive it to the shop to have the whole inside sprayed.

It looked unique driving this half prepped Defender down a Houston freeway to drop off to get completed..
The complete spraying cost was $750.00
All the spraying was done by TOFF spray in bedliners in Houston TX
