It was really windy and cold that day ! There was a optional play area and there was a 2 ft vertical ledge some decided to concur. Well Greg J, tried and after several attempts and made it. I gave it a shot and by watching Greg I knew crawling would only make me teeter-totter. Well I was front end airborne and when I landed abruptly and drove off the hill I heard a popping noise I have never heard before. I took it out of Diff Lock and gave it the gas and I heard a noise that gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. I knew my front drivers side CV was toast. Back at the Hotel we (Bill R, Antonio M, Brad B., Matt with Rockware) had the CV out in NASCAR time and thanks to Matt & Doug M, with their spare loaner I was able to return the last day for the extreme trail ride. Greg J, crushed his header exhaust so bad on that obstacle that it was pushing into his front drive shaft and several big hammers and big arms had to get it back to into a drivable position. Me on the other hand had more than the CV after looking I crushed our Fabitron sliders to a point of breaking. After the CV repair job, we had to find a coin laundry & store that we can buy some knit cap, gloves etc. it was very cold to Houstonian who only had light jackets and were not ready for the winter weather in NM !. |
