1998 Fourth of July weekend TX4X4 Outing
(Sponsored by Rick Jones & 4x4Fanatics)

Since our Defender was still in pieces in the warehouse from the spray in bed liner
we drove our Dodge Ram and then rode on the trail with Allan Madar in his red Hummer

There were several of different 4x4 that came from all over TX.   The trail was in the Frio river that had gravel to baseball sized rocks to drive on and it had several small hill challenges to try along the banks.

Here is Allan M and myself in the passenger seat crawling up a rock.

After riding in the back seat of Allan's Hummer with no AC, finding a waterhole to swim in was like a gift from god..
(Edgar and myself found a way to jump in off of the rock ledge)

While Mimi and I were sleeping, Allan M went on a night run and severely bent his tie rod for the steering when he drove into a large hole without knowing. He then limped back to the hotel. So the next morning we started to fix it. ( here I am trying to use a sledge hammer to straighten out, but no luck )

We ended up to remove the Tie-rod and using my Dodge's receiver hitch and Allan's winch we straightened to almost factory. and was back on the trail in no time.
